Medi-cal Orders Update

We here at Eye Care West Optometry are committed to providing exceptional patient care every day. We thank you for choosing our office and trusting us for your eye care needs.

‘This email is in regards to recent orders placed under Medi-cal; Optometry offices across the nation, including ours, are having extensive delays on orders submitted to the Medi-cal insurance laboratory. We understand eyewear needs are important and we are working hard to get any updates out to you as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the insurance lab has issued the following statement: ” Due to the current COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE), Medi-Cal optical services

(standard lens fabrication) by CalPIA is experiencing sometimes lengthy delays in processing lens orders.

CalPIA, and their affiliate optical laboratories are working overtime and utilizing all available

resources to fulfill your orders as quickly as possible. It is not necessary to request

status updates on orders. Upon completion of eyewear orders ready for pickup, vision care providers will contact beneficiaries directly.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times. We apologize for any inconveniences.

Sincerely,

Medi-Cal Vision Services Department of Health Care Services”

We hope to get these orders in our office soon. We will contact you as soon as the orders arrive. Feel free to contact our office with any questions. We apologize again for the delay. We wish to continue working with Medi-cal so we can see you for your needs in the future but hope they can improve on their fabrication time.
